Congratulations to the PBL Junior High School Students of the Week for the week of April 21st - April 25th. Great job, Panthers!

Our 7th graders in science recently dove into physics and design by building and testing catapults in a unit led by Mr. Rubarts. The students explored force, motion, and simple machines, applying these concepts to construct their own launching devices. The unit culminated in a distance competition, where students tested their creations to see whose catapult would launch the furthest. This hands-on project fostered critical thinking, teamwork, and a deeper understanding of scientific principles and demonstrated learning in action!

Miss DeLong's 6th grade science class experienced an exciting connection to the real world during their Project Lead The Way (PLTW) Flight & Space unit. Captain Tim Rehg from Spirit Airlines visited the class, providing students with a firsthand perspective on the aviation industry. Students had the opportunity to ask Captain Rehg questions about his experiences, gaining valuable knowledge related to the science of flight, navigation, and even flight crew scheduling. This special visit enhanced the curriculum and inspired students as they explored the challenges and innovations of aerospace.

Spring is here, and the members of our 7th grade Gardening Club are hard at work. They have been spending their lunch recess time clearing brush, planting bulbs, spotting early blooms, and weeding. Yesterday, the group walked over to the PBL FFA Greenhouse to check out the beautiful selection of flowers and started daydreaming about colorful annuals to plant around the perimeter of the school garden.
