
To clarify…the Junior High track meet and junior high track practice is canceled for today. (April 7th.)

Today on Tuesday, March 29th our junior high will be dismissing an hour early at 1:17pm. This is taking place across the school district with Clara Peterson dismissing at 1:00pm, the High School dismissing at 1:10pm, and the Junior High dismissing at 1:17pm. For your advanced planning this will also take place on Tuesday, April 26th.

During the week of March 28th-April 1st when we return from Spring Break our school community will be participating in Say Something Awareness Week alongside thousands of other schools across the country. Students will participate in a week of activities that will raise awareness about how to create a safer, healthier school, and build a culture where students and staff lookout for each other. We will be focusing on how to build a community of upstanders, and how to acknowledge the trusted adults in our school.


We wanted recognize 6th grade student Hunter Brandon for his recent trip to the IKWF State Wrestling Tournament on March 11th and 12th in Rockford, IL. Hunter won his sectional this year and qualified for the state wrestling tournament that showcased wrestlers from all over the state of Illinois. Hunter competed at the 80 pound weight class and wrestled for a team called the SOTC - The Compound located in Chenoa, IL. Way to go Hunter and congratulations on a great season.





This Friday the PBL JH Show Choir group Unlimited Attitude performed at Glenwood High School in Chatham, IL. Unlimited Attitude did a great job and be sure to check out the pictures from the show choir competition called The Event.





JH VB and JH Scholastic Bowl are canceled tonight. There will be no practices at PBL JH tonight.

The PBL JH Show Choir event at El Paso Gridley High School has been cancelled for tonight on Friday, February 18th.

PBL’s 7/8 volleyball matches at Watseka have been canceled for tonight. Our next matches will be held on February 22nd at GCMS and February 24th at home.

We will be closed tomorrow due to inclement weather and will utilize an E-Learning day on Friday, February 18th. Teachers have provided assignments or will post assignments soon. Today at PBL JH we had a visit from Petty Officer 2nd Class Angel Nava. Angel is a 2018 graduate of PBL and came to talk to students about his current assignment aboard the USS Ronald Reagan. Angle is a nuclear mechanic and this was his first visit home in three years.





The 8th Grade Orientation/Parent meeting has been rescheduled to Wednesday evening, February 16th at 6:00 p.m. in the PBL commons area due to a conflict at the Junior High. All eighth grade students and their parents or guardians are invited to attend. Students and parents will receive information about courses offered at PBL, graduation requirements, required courses for college admissions, extra-curricular activities and general policies. There will be time for questions and answers. Also, tours of the building will be available.

Congratulations to the 8th Grade Boys´ Basketball Team - IESA Regional Champions. PBL JH won against GCMS Middle School 26-25 to advance to Sectionals. Sectionals will be on Wednesday, February 9th at St. Joseph Middle School in St. Joseph, IL against Unity Junior High.


8th grade boys’ basketball practice is voluntary today and will be held from 1:30-3:00.
There is NO volleyball practice today.

The 6th, 7th and 8th grade volleyball teams will travel to Onarga on Saturday, Feb. 5th. 6th grade bus leaves at 8:10 for a 9:00 match. 7th and 8th grade bus will leave at 9:00 with the 7th grade match beginning at 10:00. Good Luck, Panthers!!! 🐾🐾🐾

The 8th grade boys’ basketball regional championship will be held at GCMS at 10:00 am on Saturday, Feb. 5th. Doors will open to spectators at 9:20. Bus will leave at 8:45. Good Luck, Panthers!!! 🐾🐾🐾🐾

We will have another E-Learning Day for Friday, February 4th due to bad weather. Teachers will have assignments and activities posted to their Google Classroom pages. A decision regarding extra curricular competitions and practices will be made on Friday morning.

The 8th Grade Boys' Basketball IESA Regional Championship Game has been rescheduled to Saturday, February 5th for 10:00am at GCMS Middle School in Gibson City, IL. The doors will open at 9:20am for families and fans to enter.

Congratulations to the 8th Grade Boys´ Basketball Team for advancing to the IESA Regional Championship game with their win last night against Prairie Central Junior High 28-25. We will play GCMS Middle School on Thursday, February 3rd at 6pm in Gibson City, IL.
