PBL 1st grade students have been learning all about communities in their "My Town" English Language Arts/Social Studies unit. Students learned about topics like government buildings and buildings used for businesses, what taxes are used for and about the duties of the city council and mayor. The culminating event was a walking tour of Paxton where students visited the mayor's office, Paxton IGA, Frederick Community Bank, and Hudson Drug and Hallmark Shop prior to wrapping up their tour at the Paxton Fire Department.
