Medieval Times - 7th Grade Field Trip

PBL Junior High 7th grade students recently had the opportunity to take a field trip to Medieval Times Dinner and Tournament in Schaumburg, Illinois. The trip was made possible by a generous grant from the PBL Education Foundation. The students were enthusiastic about the trip, with many sharing their favorite moments and expressing gratitude for the experience.

  • Tori Rock shared her excitement about the trip, saying, "Thank you so much for letting us go on the field trip. I had so much fun with my friends and everyone else! My favorite part was when we were talking to the blue knight. We told him he needed to win (which he didn't listen). This was the best field trip I've ever been on! I got to learn and I got to have fun! I was so excited that it went by too fast! Thank you again so much for paying for the field trip. That was the best place I never knew I needed to go!"

Jousting a Favorite

Many students reported that the jousting was their favorite part of the experience. The live performance, complete with horses, knights, and thrilling combat, provided a unique and memorable experience for the students.

Educational Value

The field trip to Medieval Times was not only enjoyable but also educational. It provided students with a hands-on experience of the medieval period, bringing to life the history they had been studying in their ELA classes. The interactive exhibits, live performances, and historical reenactments helped students gain a deeper understanding of the medieval world.
