Dear PBL Junior High School Families:
As we prepare for the first day of school on Wednesday, August 17th I wanted to give you some specific information to welcome you and your child to PBL Junior High School.
1. Newsletter & Communication: You can view the newsletter by clicking on the following link: PBL JH Newsletter - August 2022. The newsletter has important information about common questions students and families have as we start the year. From time-to-time I send newsletters and I also send an email once a week or bi-weekly to update our learning community on important school related topics.
2. 6th Grade Open House: We will hold a 6th Grade Open House on Monday, August 15th from 5:30pm-6:30pm. 6th grade students and families will come to the Commons Area to get their schedules. 6th grade students will also be assigned a locker and lock to drop off their supplies. 3. 7th & 8th Grade Schedules: 7th & 8th grade families and students can view schedules in Skyward on Monday, August 15th. On the first day of school (August 17th) 7th & 8th grade students will be given their schedule when they arrive at their grade level wing doors. From there they will be assisted and directed to their 1st period class to begin their day. On the first day we spend a lot of time getting everyone settled in with schedules, routines, and expectations.
4. First Day of School: Our first day of school is set for Wednesday, August 17th. Students can enter their grade level wing doors starting at 7:45am. Teachers will have student schedules at the grade level wing entrances and students will be assisted and directed to their 1st period classes to start the day. Each morning the Commons Area opens at 7:25am for students to come in and wait for the day to start. We also serve breakfast each day starting at around 7:40am in the Commons Area. All grade level entrances and the Commons Area are supervised each morning during our student arrival time.

6. Free and Reduced Lunch Applications: As we start the year I wanted to send you the link to our main website page where you can locate the free and reduced lunch applications & waiver of fees form: Waiver of Fees/Free and Reduced Forms. If you have questions about our free and reduced lunch application process you can contact the main office at the junior high at 217-379-9202.
7. 7th & 8th Grade Open House: We will hold a 7th & 8th Grade Open House on Monday, August 22nd from 5:30pm-6:30pm. Students and families are welcome to tour our school and meet the different teachers on the 7th & 8th grade teams.
