On Tuesday, February 7, 2023, PBL Junior High School hosted fifty career professionals for the 8th grade Career Fair. The day started off with donuts provided by the Paxton Masonic Lodge. The students then went to the gymnasium and listened to Phil Edwards, the keynote speaker. Phil spoke to the students about his past struggles and how he overcame obstacles to be successful. He encouraged the students to make the most out of every opportunity they are given in order to succeed. The students then went to twenty-five minute break out sessions with career professionals to learn about different career paths they could be interested in pursuing in the future. Lunch was provided to the career presenters by the Paxton Masonic Lodge. The 8th grade Career Fair was an excellent way to get our eighth graders thinking about their future careers as they embark on the next part of their academic careers at the high school in the fall. Thank you again to our School Counselor, Stacy Johnson for organizing an impactful day for our students.
