Hudson Larson of Paxton has been named student of the month for October at Paxton-Buckley-Loda High School. Hudson is the son of Eddie and Kristen Larson. He was nominated for the award by his Ag teacher, Kirsten Wyatt.
Mrs. Wyatt said in her nomination, “Hudson is an incredible asset to our Aquaculture class. He consistently demonstrates qualities that make him an outstanding student and role model. I can always trust him to complete his work efficiently and with precision, maintaining a high standard of academic performance through active class participation, excellent attendance, and impressive grades.
Mrs. Wyatt stated, “Hudson’s sense of responsibility and trustworthiness sets him apart. He is hardworking, well-mannered, and respectful, following school rules and displaying a positive attitude that lifts those around him. His behavior reflects kindness and respect not only to his peers but also to teachers and staff, creating an atmosphere of mutual respect and cooperation.”
“Hudson’s dedication to good citizenship extends beyond our classroom. He shows respect for others and for property, both within the school and in the broader community. His involvement in the Boy Scouts is a perfect example of his commitment to service and personal growth, where he is active in helping others and upholding strong community values,” added Mrs. Wyatt.
Hudson participates in FFA, golf, baseball, and Boy Scouts. He also volunteers at veteran’s homes, animal shelters, and food pantries. Hudson has won 1st Place at the University of Illinois Engineering Camp. Hudson plans to attend Purdue University and study aerospace engineering.
The student of the month award is sponsored by Bank of Pontiac. The award recognizes PBL High School students who demonstrate the school district’s mission of “Excellence through rigor, relevance, and relationships.” Teachers nominate students and the winner receives $50, and the other nominees receive a $5 gift certificate from Just Hamburgers. The other students that were nominated for October Student of the Month are Anna Birge, Tyler Courtney, Anna Layng, and Megan Stallone.
