Grace Freitag of Roberts has been named student of the month for December at Paxton-Buckley-Loda High School. Grace is the daughter of Darcy Davis. She was nominated for the award by Business teacher, Audra Nuckols.
Mrs. Nuckols said in her nomination, “Grace always has a positive attitude, is respectful to others, and is very reliable. She is an excellent student and participates in class. Grace completes her assignments and projects on time and goes beyond expectations.”
Mrs. Nuckols also stated, “Grace is vice president for FBLA and is leading this year’s winter clothing drive for those in need. She is an excellent representation for PBL High School.”
Grace participates in Future Business Leaders of America and chamber choir. She also provides community service through her FBLA group. Grace wants to go to college and eventually work in law or the business field.
The student of the month award is sponsored by the Bank of Pontiac. The award recognizes PBL High School students who demonstrate the school district’s mission of “Excellence through rigor, relevance, and relationships.” Teachers nominate students and the winner receives $50, and the other nominees receive a $5 gift certificate from Just Hamburgers. The other students nominated for December Student of the Month were Grant Marshall, Ava Perkins, Ava Reinhart, and Aubree Sawyer. Congratulations to all the nominees and our winner, Grace Freitag!
