Congratulations to the PBL FFA Chapter for placing 1st at the Section 17 FFA Horticulture contest. Top individuals include Sydney Pickens-1st, Karley Putnam-3rd, Ryanna Parkins-4th, Adrianna Mullett- 5th, and Jackson Cahill- 9th. During this CDE, members identified different types of flowers, evaluated a landscape design, distinguished a variety of insects or diseases that can impact trees, flowers, or shrubs, and took a written exam on floriculture and horticulture practices. The team will compete for the state title on Friday, April 25.
Three teams made of members from Bridge Team and the Physics Class competed at the University of Illinois High School Engineering Design Competition alongside 7 other teams. The contest was to build a tower with straws and masking tape. They were scored in three areas:
Height of tower (minimum 20 cm)
Weight held
Efficiency of material usage
A PBL team - The Wacky Widgets - took first place as the most innovative tower and also held the most weight at 3 lbs.

We recognize our paraprofessional educators, also known as teacher assistants or para pros, for their dedication to students and teachers. They assist in classrooms, support enrichment activities, help with assignments, and work with students with special education needs. Their role is essential to student success. Schedule updates for today: varsity baseball and softball games will be played at Illinois Wesleyan. Softball will start at 4:30. Baseball will start at 5:00. The Home JV baseball game and home track meet are on as scheduled with 4:30 start times.
