🌟 Day 4 of "See Something, Say Something" Week! 🌟
Today, we're focusing on Trusted Adults! 🙌 Students are learning about the important people they can turn to for support—whether in their families, communities, or schools. 🏠🏫
To show appreciation, students will be writing letters or cards to thank one of their trusted adults today. 💌💚 We want to give a huge shout-out to all the amazing adults who help keep our students safe and supported! You are vital to their well-being, and we are so grateful for you! 🙏
Reminder: Tomorrow, students are encouraged to wear green to celebrate unity and the strength we find in each other. 🌱💪

🚨 Day 2 of "See Something, Say Something" Week! 🚨
Yesterday, we learned how to speak up when something’s not right! 🗣️ Today, we’re taking it a step further by learning about upstanders! 💪 What does it mean to be an upstander? It’s about standing up for ourselves and our friends when it matters most! 👥💥
Let’s continue to be brave, kind, and proactive—because together, we can make our school a safer and stronger place! 🙌💙

We would like to invite you to provide feedback to assist us in driving our school improvement efforts. The 5Essentials Survey, which will help schools and districts identify areas of strength and those in need of support, is open until March 28. There is an optional parent survey that goes along with the teacher and student survey. PBL schools will get a report from the parent survey if the school achieves a 20% response rate. We are asking that you please take a few minutes to complete the survey. The survey is located at: http://survey.5-essentials.org/illinois/survey/parent/

Our students enjoyed a fantastic visit to the FFA Petting Zoo, hosted by our Ag department. Thanks to everyone who helped make this wonderful experience possible!

Mr. VanNote, Officer Ryan, and Mr. Jones came into the 3rd grade classrooms this week to speak about how they help people with their jobs. 3rd graders then worked on writing about someone they knew that helped people that they consider a hero.

Our fifth graders were fortunate to hear from guest speaker Margurette Carter yesterday. A respected educator, mentor, and active Rantoul community member, Mrs. Carter shared her life experiences. Thank you, Mrs. Carter, for inspiring our students!

Clara Peterson students will be bussed over to the FFA petting zoo throughout the day today. Each grade level will spend about 45 minutes at the high school before returning to Clara Peterson.

We are looking to add to our team for the 2025-2026 school year with some positions available immediately.

The Ford County Attendance Initiative would like to give some tips to help students get to school as much as possible and limit our chronic absenteeism! Lay out clothes and pack backpacks the night before school. Establish a bedtime and morning routine. Plan trips and appointments outside of school hours if possible. Minimize screen time before bedtime to help achieve restful sleep. Ask school staff to help if your child is having anxiety about school. Have a back up plan to get to school if something comes up. Let's work together to help better student attendance at our schools. Be Present, Be Powerful!

This week was National School Counseling Week, which highlights the unique contributions of school counselors across the country. They help students achieve school success and plan for the future. A big thank you to Mrs. Johnson, Kristin Oyer, and Lisa Niewold for all they do to support students, staff, and families in our schools and district.
