Congratulations to our PBL retirees! You will be greatly missed. Thank you for all your contributions over the years. Wishing you a well-deserved and wonderful retirement!
On Friday the 17th, our Clara Pete students enjoyed COW (Careers on Wheels) day. They participated in rotations with various companies and business owners who attended the event, learning about diverse careers outside of traditional workplaces. The students had a great time, enjoying the sunshine and the engaging activities.
The 3rd graders in Mrs. Garrell and Mrs. Schaumburg's ELA classes wrote opinion essays that will be sent to the Vermillion County Animal Shelter in Danville. The kids picked out an animal from the shelter's website. Then they wrote an essay that had reasons why someone should adopt the animal they choose. These essays will be posted with the animal and on the shelter's Facebook page.
Fifth grade students will return to Clara Peterson from their field trip at 4:15 p.m.
A big shoutout to our 2024 Retirees, Timothy Hess, Deb Cook, Kelli Vaughn, Helen Ellis, Michael Herriott, Kim Frichtl, Mike Frichtl, and Daron Johnson! Thanks for everything you've done here at PBL. Your dedication and contributions have made a significant impact here at PBL, inspiring countless students to excel. Wishing you all a retirement filled with happiness and fulfillment!
Today, we had the pleasure of welcoming Linda Tammen, a retired 1st-grade teacher from Clara Peterson, to our 4th-grade class. She shared her expertise on beekeeping, providing us with a fascinating and insightful presentation. It was a unique opportunity for us to learn about the importance of bees and their vital role in our ecosystem. We are grateful to Mrs. Tammen for her time and knowledge, which enriched our understanding of the natural world.
Illini football player, Clayton Leonard, came to talk about overcoming challenges and the importance of a strong work ethic.
Third grade students will return to Clara Peterson from their field trip at 5:30 p.m.
