Fourth and fifth grade students who went roller skating this afternoon will arrive at Clara Peterson at approximately 5 p.m.
Third grade students who went roller skating this afternoon will return to Clara Peterson at approximately 5:15 p.m.
PBL will be hosting a Protecting our Children meeting with Paxton Police Officers and members of the Ford County CHAOS Team on November 13. There will be food and childcare free of charge. Make sure to fill out the Form linked beneath so we can make sure we have enough food and coverage.

Charles Cambridge helped with a scavenger hunt with Mrs. Johnson's 2nd grade today.
All of first grade went on our Town Tour field trip this morning! We met with Mayor Ingold, went to IGA, walked through the safe and learned about money at Frederick Community Bank, learned how a pharmacy works at Hudson’s Pharmacy, and explored the different fire trucks at the Paxton fire station with Chief Kingren! We finished up our unit about neighborhoods and communities by exploring our own!
Students and staff will participate in a fire drill on Monday, October 7 at 8:30 a.m. This drill will be supervised by school administration and the Paxton Fire Department and will take approximately 10 minutes to complete.
National Custodians Day is a special day to recognize and appreciate the hard work and dedication of our school custodians. These unsung heroes work tirelessly to keep our school buildings clean, safe, and comfortable for students, staff, and visitors. From sweeping floors and mopping hallways to emptying trash and sanitizing surfaces, our custodians play a vital role in ensuring a healthy and positive learning environment for all. Today, Mrs. Jones’s first grade class decorated volleyballs with Senior volleyball player Aubrey Busboom! We also celebrated Aubrey’s nomination to Senior Homecoming Court! Congrats Aubrey!
Yesterday, the kindergarten classes at Clara Peterson Elementary had a blast celebrating Johnny Appleseed's birthday with a hands-on apple-pressing activity.
Mrs. Gooden's kindergarten class has really enjoyed the homecoming activities this week. We especially enjoyed having senior Bryar Cosgrove join our class on Friday.
Mrs. Staton's resource class was hard at work on Friday. They practiced subtracting with regrouping in math, editing sentences for writing, and decoded hard words depending on which groups they see me for.
Today Ford County students will be reflecting on their attendance in the first 5 weeks of school. Students will be tracking how many days they have been present versus how many days they have been absent. At this point in the school year, missing more than three days in the first 5 weeks of school puts a student on track to being chronically absent. When your child returns home from school today, ask them about their attendance. #bepresentbepowerful
Third grade math classes walked to Frederick community bank on Friday to learn about how banks work to connect our social studies/math lessons.
Mrs. Steiner's second grade class has enjoyed having senior Aubree Sawyer as their Friday Sports Reader! Aubree is a cheerleader and in the marching band. She was also in Mrs. Steiner's class as a second grader!
