The Gibson Area Service Association is partnering with Dolly Parton's Imagination Library to provide free books to any child age birth - 5 who lives in the PBL school district. Please click on the link below to access the informational flyer. While the flyer says Ford county the GASA set it up so anyone in Ford County, Loda, and Buckley can particpate in the program. Once parents have signed up books are mailed directly home until the child's 5th birthday.

Fourth graders visited the Museum of Science and Industry May 1st for their field trip. They had a lot of fun experiencing scientific coolness!







PBL Youth Basketball Co-Ed Camps will be held June 3rd through June 6th. Deadline for sign-ups has been extended to Wednesday May 8th. This camp is for students currently in K-4th grades. On Wednesday, April 17th Clara Peterson Elementary School and PBL Junior High School recognized two different students from each school at the Illinois Principals Association (IPA) Student Recognition Breakfast in Normal, IL at the Hancock Stadium Club located on the campus at Illinois State University. The teachers and administrators selected students for this honor because of their leadership characteristics in the classroom and their dedication and contributions to our schools.
At the recognition program different schools from the Corn Belt Region recognized students with a certificate of achievement, got to listen to a keynote speaker from the university, had a catered breakfast, and even got ice cream on the way back to school.

Yesterday, we kicked off our Girl's Basketball Pop-Up Camp with Coach Taylor Runyan leading the way! Girls from 5th to 11th grade joined in, practicing dribbling, shooting, and running some drills.










Our 4th graders today had a cool presentation from Raina Terry, U of I Women's Volleyball player. She spoke to them about working hard and overcoming adversity to do great things. Thank you Raina for your motivational presentation and having fun with our class!
