Mrs. Goodson's 5th grade enjoyed a coffee inspired book tasting to start off the year. As the students "tasted" different genres they enjoyed juice, cookies and mints!
This Friday, August 30 Clara Peterson staff and students will participate in a crisis evacuation drill starting at 8:30 a.m. Staff and students will evacuate the building and go to our rallying point, the Lutheran Church, and then be bussed to our reunification center which is ELITE fitness center. This drill will be supervised by school administration and the Paxton Police Department. Once the drill is complete a notification will be sent when all staff and students are back at Clara Peterson.

Clara Peterson students will be walking to Paxton Lutheran Church during P.E. classes today as part of our ALICE procedures. The church is our designated rallying point in the case of an emergency. If you have any questions, please contact the office.
Ford County Schools (GCMS, PBL, Tri-Point) are partnering together to decrease chronic absenteeism in our schools. We have worked with the Champaign-Ford County Regional Office of Education to secure an attendance liaison, to work strictly with Ford County Schools. We will be hosting monthly visits at our school with the ROE Attendance liaison during the school day. These visits aim to address the importance of consistent school attendance.

Clara Peteson students will participate in a fire drill tomorrow at 10:00 a.m. and a severe weather drill on Tuesday, August 20th at 10:00 a.m. Both drills will be supervised by Clara Peterson staff and should take approximately 10 minutes.

A friendly reminder that Monday, July 8th we will be having our first Volleyball youth camp! This will continue through Thursday, July 11th! 3rd-5th graders will be from 9:00-10:30 and our 6th-8th graders will be from 10:30-12:00. We will be in the high school gym! Please have your campers come in through the weight room doors! We will have high school athletes helping to direct campers where to go! We are so excited to see everyone!
