
The Career Day at PBL JH for our 8th grade students was a huge success. Thank you to all the local career professionals that made our Career Day a memorable experience. Attached is a thank you and what our students had to say about the experience.

On Tuesday, February 4th our 8th Grade Students will experience a Career Day at PBL JH. In the morning we will have a key note speaker and local area career professionals for breakout sessions. In the afternoon the 8th grade students will also tour PBL HS.

6th Grade Students from Mrs. Coplea's Study Hall did a good deed this week on Wednesday packing backpacks at Clara Peterson Elementary School. Way to go Panthers-


The PBL HS FFA visited 8th Grade Advisory Classes today to share about our HS FFA program and do some team building activities.

Students this week at PBL JH took the 5Essential Survey and also an Initial School Climate Survey. Both of these surveys give our students a chance to provide valuable feedback on how our school is doing.

Our volleyball teams host Cissna Park tonight! Exhibition match begins at 4:45 with the 7th grade match slated to begin at 5:30. 8th grade match will follow 7th grade. Go, Panthers!! 🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾

Our 7th grade boys’ basketball team travels to Hoopeston Area Middle School for a Regional Championship match-up with St. Joseph tonight at 6:00! Good Luck, PBL Panthers!! 🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾

Congratulations to Coach Palmer and the 7th grade boys’ basketball team on advancing to Thursday night’s Regional Championship at Hoopeston Area Middle School. Game time is 6:00. Go, Panthers!! 🐾

Last night on January 24th the PBL JH Student Council hosted a Winter Dance from 5:30-7:30pm in the JH Commons. Students had a great time and a wonderful start to their weekend.


8th Grade Students in ELA with Mrs. Williams & Mrs. Grice were working on Peer Editing. The students were reviewing literary essays on Chromebooks and reviewing their peers paper on rubric to provide student feedback.

7th Grade Students in our Speech Enrichment with Mrs. Mauck put on a practice performance with short comedy skits. There were performances about the first day of school, the movie, and more.

In 8th Grade ELA students are sharing book talks. In our ELA classes this year we are using a Balanced Literacy Approach with different workshops that consist of reading, writing, & language. See the attached pictures from two book talks with Leah Eyre and Cadien Riecks.

Good luck this week to our Boys 7th & 8th Grade Basketball Teams as they play their final regular season game on Thursday at St. Joe Middle School starting at 6pm. Attached is a picture from our 8th Grade Boys final home game last week.

The One Word Challenge is up & running at PBL JH. In Advisory Classes students are coming up with their Advisory Classes "One Word" for the new year. The next step will be students picking their own "One Word" for the new year.


Today 7th Grade Students in Design & Modeling with Mr. Rubarts were collaborating & brainstorming ideas for the Therapeutic Toy Design Challenge. PBL JH is implementing Project Lead The Way courses to further enhance the rigor & relevance of our curriculum.

8th Grade Volleyball defeats Ridgeview in two sets to go (4-0) on the season. Both teams back in action at home against Buckley St Johns on January 23rd at 5:30.

Our 7th and 8th grade volleyball teams both won tonight at St. Malachy in Rantoul. Both teams will be in action against Ridgeview Tuesday night at home beginning at 5:30.

The 7th & 8th Grade Boys Basketball Teams were in action against Iroquois West on January 9th. We had two close games and a great turn out by families. 7th Grade won 34-32.
