We are very excited to announce that we will be hosting an upcoming author visit! New York Times Best-Selling Author, Margaret Peterson Haddix will be visiting PBL Junior High on March 6th to speak to our students! She has written about 50 books for children which tend to fall into the science fiction and mystery genres and a couple of her most recognizable titles include Among the Hidden and Found. Check out her website at https://haddixbooks.com/ to learn more about her and her books!

As some of you may know this week is National School Counseling Week. We want to thank our counselors, Kristin Oyer, Lisa Niewold and Stacy Johnson, for being there to support our students. This week they worked hard to help our 8th graders prepare for their next big step.

The Junior High Student Council Penny Wars are in full swing. The Penny Wars will continue through the month of February. Each day the student council sets up jars in the commons during lunch and the hallways during arrival for each grade level to bring their spare change and put it towards a great cause. All proceeds of this year's penny wars will support the St. Louis Children's Hospital. 1 penny equals 1 point for their grade level. If students bring in nickels, dimes, quarters, or any type of dollar bill they can subtract points from the other grade levels. So far the students have raised $338.65. Thanks to our student council members and their sponsors for creating this great opportunity for our students to give back!
