On Thursday, May 16th PBL JH will be recognizing the three (3) student-athletes who qualified for the IESA State Track Meet. At 7:45am we will be announcing and celebrating our student-athletes that qualified for the state track meet in the Commons Area. The IESA State Track Meet will be held in East Peoria, IL at the Eastside Centre on Friday, May 17th & Saturday, May 18th. Jackson Cahill qualified for the 8th Grade 3A Discus and is the returning Discus State Champion from 2023. Caden Duley qualified for the 7th Grade 3A 400 Meter Dash. Hunter Shedd qualified for the 7th Grade 3A 100 & 200 Meter Dash and the Long Jump.

We had an incredible week celebrating Teacher Appreciation Week! A huge thank you to all who contributed to its success. We truly appreciate the unwavering support of our community and the hard work of our teachers. Your dedication does not go unnoticed, and we hope you feel our gratitude every single day!
On Tuesday, May 14th we will be holding our Spring Band & Chorus Concert in the PBL JH Gymnasium at 6:00pm. All 6th-8th grade students that participate in band and chorus will be performing for their parents and family members that attend. We will also have the 5th grade band here to perform. Following the concert there will be refreshments in the North Foyer just outside the gym. All chorus students need to arrive at 5:15pm and band students need to arrive at 5:30pm.
Tonight on Saturday, May 11th the 8th Grade Dance will be held in the Commons Area from 7:00-9:30pm at PBL Junior High School. There will be a DJ with music, concessions for sale, raffle tickets for sale, formal pictures for sale, and more. For 6th & 7th grade students that purchased admission at school you will be checked in to enter. For 6th & 7th grade students that still need to purchase admission the cost is $6 when entering. All 8th graders get in for free.

On April 30th, students in the Panther Pals program had an end of the year party. Students in the Life Skills classroom used profits from the Panther Store to create a menu, shop for supplies and put together gift bags. The students enjoyed Papa John's Pizza along with other snacks and drinks. Teams were created and students played "Minute to Win It" games in the gym. Thank you to those students who joined Panther Pals this year. Also a huge thank you to the Knights of Columbus whose generous donations help fund the Life Skills classroom, Panther Store and other activities throughout the year.
